Make alternate Earths and even Waterworlds. Planets have a lot of islands or only a few continents. The new areas developed by the Oceania DLC drastically alter the game's feel and ambiance. Yet, it significantly alters the gameplay and forces you to play a new kind of game. 

Furthermore, the current land-based Traders have a more structured relative in the sea-based Merchants, known as Maritime Trade Houses (MTHs). The MTHs will enable you to explore the oceans and gain Transport Contracts in order to invade and/or maintain supplies moving between continents or islands. The MTH are quite commercial, and it is also possible to buy their shares. After you have become a shareholder, you may utilize Policy Meetings with the MTH to influence their opinions and dividend distributions.
