The owner of the Nautilus, Dr. Pierre, along with seven other sailors, unintentionally rescued a "compass" during their journey. He was able to see where he really was in the cosmos thanks to this compass, but it also made the Nautilus fall into the time vortex.

"SU" is a future city student. She came onto an ancient submarine that was imprisoned in both time and space while diving. When SU went inside the submarine for an adventure, the time vortex ensnared him and took him to an unidentified space-time.
